Stittsville seeks volunteers for 18 outdoor skating rinks

Every rink in the community is maintained entirely by volunteers, Councillor Glen Gower's office says, and it is asking anyone who can help with snow clearing, flooding or programming to get in touch.

Stittsville's 18 outdoor skating rinks are maintained 100 per cent by community volunteers, and Councillor Glen Gower's office is recruiting people to help at them this year.1

The call went out on Oct. 3. Volunteers are needed for snow clearing, flooding, maintenance and programming, the office said.1

Anyone who wants to help can email glen.gower@ottawa.ca. The office says it will connect volunteers with the rink operators and parks staff.1
