Saskatoon to close four priority one roads starting Wednesday

Saskatoon will close and restrict several priority one roadways starting Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2026, for water main work and road paving, the City of Saskatoon said in a release dated Sept. 22, 2026. Detour signs will guide motorists around the affected areas, and the City thanked everyone in advance for their patience.

What is closing and for how long

Kensington Boulevard will be closed between Ells Crescent and Kensington Lane S for water main work, starting at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 23 and expected to take four days. McCormack Road will be closed between Smith Road and Parr Place for road paving on Wednesday, and continuing Friday it will be closed from Parr Place to Borland Place for additional road paving, from 7 a.m. Wednesday until 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 27.

Taylor Street W will be closed between Kilburn Avenue and Lorne Avenue for water main work, starting at 6 a.m. Wednesday and expected to take four weeks. The 12th Street E and Dufferin Avenue intersection will be closed for water main work, starting at 7 a.m. Wednesday and expected to take six weeks.

Closure end times are weather permitting and barring any unforeseen circumstances, the City said. Saskatoon Transit may be affected by the detours, and transit service alerts and real-time bus information are available on third-party apps like Transit and Google Maps Transit on desktop.
