Saskatoon closes Broadway, McKercher and other priority roads this weekend

Saskatoon will close stretches of several priority one roads starting Saturday, September 12 and running until Monday, September 14, 2026, the City of Saskatoon said in a release dated September 11. Detour signs will be in place to guide motorists around the work and the events.
The largest closure is Broadway Avenue between 8th Street and 12th Street for the Broadway Street Fair. That event also closes 9th, Main, 10th and 11th Streets. The Broadway closure runs Saturday from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
McKercher Drive will be closed on the north side at the 8th Street E intersection for road paving on Saturday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Two-way traffic on 8th Street will be maintained in the eastbound lanes.
Also on Saturday, the Idylwyld Drive N northbound offramp to 51st Street E closes for storm drain repairs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Avenue C N northbound ramps to Idylwyld Drive N close for overnight road resurfacing from Saturday to Monday, 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. daily.
On Sunday, Queen Street closes between 3rd Avenue N and 5th Avenue N for road patching from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. McCormack Road closes between Streb Crescent and Fairlight Drive for crack sealing from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., and the McCormack Road and Heise Crescent intersection will remain open.
Pendygrasse Road closes between Forrester Road and Henigman Place for crack sealing on Sunday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. 5th Avenue N closes between 22nd Street E and 23rd Street E for road patching on Sunday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Closure end times are weather permitting and barring any unforeseen circumstances, the city said. Saskatoon Transit may be affected by these detours.
