Saskatoon Closes 3rd Ave N Southbound at 25th St E for Crane Lift on Sept. 14

Saskatoon drivers heading south on 3rd Avenue North will be detoured into the northbound lanes between 25th Street East and 24th Street East on Sept. 14, because the city has closed the southbound side for a crane lift. The closure runs from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and two-way traffic will be maintained in the northbound lanes, according to the City of Saskatoon's daily road report published Sept. 11.

The report covers road restrictions on Priority 1 streets only, which the city defines as high-traffic, high-speed routes. Several other new restrictions also begin Sept. 14.

On 33rd Street West, the westbound side is closed from Avenue B North to Avenue D North for water main work starting at 8 a.m. Two-way traffic will be set in the eastbound lanes, and the closure is scheduled to end Sept. 17 at 5 p.m.

Junor Avenue is closed from Richardson Road to Carrothers Court for manhole repairs from 9 a.m. to noon on Sept. 14. On 20th Street West, the eastbound side is closed from Ottawa Avenue South to Montreal Avenue South for road patching from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. the same day.

Three overnight sewer work closures begin at 7 p.m. Sept. 14 and end Sept. 15 at 6 a.m. On 2nd Street West, the westbound and southbound sides are closed at Coy Avenue. On 22nd Street West, the westbound median lane is closed at Avenue J North. On Lorne Avenue, the northbound and westbound sides are closed at 2nd Street West, with two-way traffic in the southbound lanes.

Other new work includes median lane closures on Pinehouse Drive eastbound and westbound at Reindeer Road for traffic calming, and traffic restrictions on Russell Road northbound and southbound from Adilman Drive to Chomyn Crescent, also for traffic calming. Both start Sept. 14 at 7 a.m. and end Sept. 17.

Preston Avenue North has new northbound and southbound restrictions from Research Drive to Innovation Boulevard for Link Station construction, starting Sept. 14 at 7 a.m. and ending Sept. 23 at 5 p.m. On Circle Drive East, the northbound curb lane is closed from College Drive to 108th Street West for overpass repairs from Sept. 14 at 9 a.m. to Oct. 12 at 5 p.m.

Ongoing restrictions include the westbound closure on 8th Street East from Boychuk Drive to McKercher Drive for road paving, which ends Sept. 14 at 4 p.m. The city's next daily road report was not included in the evidence.
