Nanaimo opens advance voting Oct. 7 for 2026 local election
Eligible electors can cast a ballot at Beban Park Social Centre on Oct. 7 or Oct. 14, ahead of general voting day on Oct. 17.

The City of Nanaimo will open its first advance voting opportunity for the 2026 General Local Election on Wednesday, Oct. 7, with a second advance poll on Wednesday, Oct. 14, according to the city.
Both advance polls run from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Beban Park Social Centre, 2300 Bowen Road. Eligible electors may vote at either advance voting opportunity.
General voting day locations
On General Voting Day, Oct. 17, eligible electors can vote at any of 11 locations, all open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. except the Protection Island Fire Hall, which is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. only.
The locations are Beban Park Social Centre at 2300 Bowen Road; Brechin Elementary School at 510 Millstone Avenue; Chase River Elementary School at 1503 Cranberry Avenue; City of Nanaimo Service and Resource Centre at 411 Dunsmuir Street; Dover Bay Secondary School at 6135 McGirr Road; John Barsby Secondary School at 550 Seventh Street; Nanaimo District Secondary School at 355 Wakesiah Avenue; Protection Island Fire Hall at 26 Pirates Lane; Randerson Ridge Elementary School at 6021 Nelson Road; Uplands Park Elementary School at 3821 Stronach Drive; and Wellington Secondary School at 3135 Mexicana Road.
