Iqaluit crews to open access vault at QGH clinic entrance Sept. 29-30

The City of Iqaluit says work will take place near the clinic entrance at Qikiqtani General Hospital on Tuesday, Sept. 29 and Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2026. Crews will expose an underground access vault so it can be safely accessed for work, according to the city.

Part of the clinic parking lot entrance will be temporarily closed while the work is underway. The clinic will remain open and accessible during this work, the city says.

There will be no changes to regular traffic flow, but motorists should expect a minor disruption when entering or leaving the clinic parking area. The city asks drivers to follow posted signage, use caution travelling through the area and be mindful of workers and equipment.
