Invincible VS Adds Angstrom Levy as Third DLC Fighter on October 13

Angstrom Levy joins Invincible VS on October 13 as the game's third DLC fighter and 21st playable character, Microsoft Gaming said in a post published Oct. 1. The character arrives as part of Season 2 for the 3v3 tag fighting game, which is available now on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC and Xbox Cloud as an Xbox Play Anywhere title.

The publisher described Angstrom as a zoning-focused fighter built around portals and summonable orbs, a playstyle the post said differs from the rest of the roster. Portals can be used offensively, defensively and for mobility, and can be turned into traps, while the orbs interact with the portals in ways the post said give players more options to control a fight.

When we started thinking about how Angstrom should play in Invincible VS, we knew his portals had to be at the heart of everything he does.Microsoft Gaming, in the Invincible VS announcement post

The post said the character rewards creativity and experimentation, and that his space-control tools open up team strategies in a game where teammates and assists already shape how matches play out. Angstrom is based on the Invincible character of the same name, a human with the ability to travel across dimensions whose life was changed by an accident that left him with a disfigured brain and the memories of his alternate selves.

Players attending Evo France this October will be able to use Angstrom before his release, according to the post, which said he will be playable at the event for the first time ahead of Oct. 13. The post did not give a specific date for that appearance beyond the month of the event.

Invincible VS is a superhero 3v3 tag fighting game set in the Invincible universe, published by Skybound Games, according to the store listing included with the post. The listing shows a price of $49.99 and describes team-based combat with Super moves and Ultimates across a variety of game modes.

The announcement is a character release for an existing game rather than a new title. Microsoft Gaming's post did not say how many players have bought Invincible VS, how many staff worked on the character or whether further Season 2 fighters are planned.
