Calgary police say a woman in her 60s is in serious, life-threatening condition after a collision involving a school bus and a pedestrian in the southwest community of Somerset. The collision happened at approximately 3 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 17, 2026, near the intersection of 162 Avenue and Sixth Street S.W., according to a City of Calgary newsroom release published Sept. 18.
The woman was transported to hospital as a precaution with what were initially believed to be non-life-threatening injuries. Her condition has since deteriorated, the release says.
