Minister of Housing and Infrastructure Gregor Robertson launched a call for applications under the Zero Emission Transit Fund on Oct. 29, 2026, seeking one or more not-for-profit organizations and academic institutions to provide planning and advisory services to municipalities and transit agencies across Canada as they look to deploy zero emission transit.1

Up to $15 million is available through the launch to support those services, the Government of Canada said. Applications are being accepted from Oct. 29, 2026 to Jan. 14, 2027.1

Robertson is also minister responsible for Pacific Economic Development Canada, according to the government. The announcement named no municipalities, transit agencies or funding recipients.1
