The Paul-Émile-Lépine Community Centre will be renovated and modernized with more than $8.4 million from the federal government, Housing, Infrastructure and Communities Canada said in an announcement dated Oct. 26. The department said the work will give residents of L'Île-Perrot a modern gathering place tailored to the community's needs for hosting community and social activities.1

The money comes under the Green and Inclusive Community Buildings program (GICB), the department said. The announcement did not set out a construction schedule, a cost-sharing arrangement with other levels of government or a list of the specific work involved.1
