Ottawa and Ontario put $2 million into agri-food food safety

The governments of Canada and Ontario are investing $2 million across the province to help small businesses in the agri-food industry expand operations and enhance food safety, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada said on Oct. 5, 2026.1

The money is delivered through Ontario's Food Safety and Growth Initiative, according to the department. The funding will help equip businesses with the tools and technologies they need to improve safety, increase efficiency and grow.1
