The Public Works Unit of the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke says repairs to a waterline on Old Malone Highway, just west of the Canadian Pacific Kansas City tunnel, are scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2026, beginning at 7 a.m. weather permitting and expected to be finished by about 12 noon the same day.1

The council said in a notice published on Nov. 2 that the work will result in a partial road closure, with detours clearly marked to maintain traffic flow, and that residents are asked to use alternate routes during that time.1

Homes in the immediate area may also experience a temporary interruption in water service during the work, the notice says.1

The scheduling of this work is subject to change based on weather conditions, operational requirements, or work progression.1Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke Public Works Unit

The Public Works Unit said it appreciates the community's patience and apologizes for any temporary inconvenience. It directed residents seeking additional information to contact Public Works at the town garage at 450-632-5825.1
