GE Healthcare flags exposed sharp edge in SIGNA Artist scanner cabinets
The company says the edge could damage power cables and, if the cabinet door is opened while the system is powered, potentially cause an arc flash.
GE Healthcare says it has become aware of an exposed sharp edge inside the electronics cabinet of the SIGNA™ Artist Evo and SIGNA™ Artist that could damage power cables, which may potentially cause an electrical fault, according to a recall and safety alert for health products published Sept. 18, 2026.1
The alert says that if the electrical fault is present and the cabinet door is opened while the system is powered, this could potentially result in an arc flash that could lead to serious injury to service personnel in immediate proximity.1
