Alberta is investing more than $6 million to build 24 affordable homes for Indigenous families and Elders in Calgary, the provincial government said in an announcement dated Oct. 30. The province said the homes are breaking ground.1

The announcement gives no location within Calgary, no construction timeline and no expected completion date for the 24 homes. It also does not say who will build or operate them, or how households will be selected.1
