Westlock RCMP received information in January 2026 that someone in the Westlock area was selling unstamped cigarettes, RCMP K Division said in a release published Oct. 9, 2026.1

The information was corroborated by an unrelated call for service in which a carton of contraband cigarettes was seized and the individual indicated they purchased it from "The Boutique" in Westlock, according to the release.1

Westlock RCMP, with assistance from RCMP K Division Special I, began an investigation into the business that included various surveillance techniques, the release said.1
