Wainwright RCMP respond to fire report at CFB Wainwright training area

Mounties say they were called to the Alberta base on Oct. 17 at about 4 p.m. after early reports of a fire in a training area.

Wainwright RCMP responded to a request for assistance at Canadian Forces Base Wainwright on Oct. 17, 2026, at approximately 4 p.m., the Alberta RCMP detachment said in a release issued Oct. 27.¹

Early reports were that there was a fire at a training area, according to the release. The RCMP said it is assisting CFB Wainwright after the incident.¹
