Saskatoon youth, 16, charged with aggravated assault after Hamm Way incident

A 16-year-old male youth has been charged with aggravated assault after a man was taken to hospital with serious injuries, the Saskatoon Police Service says, following a disturbance Saturday morning in the 300 block of Hamm Way.

Police say officers were called at approximately 6:40 a.m. on September 19, 2026, where it was reported that it sounded like someone was being assaulted in a basement suite.

Upon arrival, officers located two females and a male youth attempting to leave the residence, according to the service. Officers also located a 26-year-old man who was transported to hospital by paramedics for what were believed to be serious injuries.

The victim and suspect are believed to be known to each other, police say. A 16-year-old male youth was arrested in relation to the incident and has been charged with aggravated assault.

Members of the Serious Assault Unit continue to investigate, according to the service. The release lists Court Information Number 991351939 and Occurrence Number 26-135689.
