Retail sales rise 0.6 per cent to $74.3 billion in June

Statistics Canada reports sales were up in seven of nine subsectors, led by general merchandise retailers.

Retail sales increased 0.6 per cent to $74.3 billion in June, Statistics Canada reported Aug. 21. Sales rose in seven of the nine subsectors, led by increases at general merchandise retailers.1

The agency did not state whether the figure was seasonally adjusted, and the release gives no year-earlier or prior-month comparison.1
