Quebec's Palais des congrès de Montréal will hold its first Marché des récoltes on Oct. 28 and 29, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., the Palais said in a release dated Oct. 19, 2026. The market will take place in the Palais's public space, called the Maison du Palais, at 1001 Place Jean-Paul-Riopelle, near the Place-d'Armes métro station in Montreal.1

The Palais is organizing the market with the Laboratoire sur l'agriculture urbaine, known as AU/LAB, a laboratory focused on urban agriculture. The release says the market will offer vegetables, fresh herbs, mushrooms, flowers, honey and processed products, all from local production, and will include products grown on the Palais's green roof.1

Eight producers are scheduled to take part. AU/LAB will bring a selection of vegetables harvested on the Palais green roof, the release says.1

The other producers named in the release are Full Pin, an urban farm in Hochelaga-Maisonneuve specializing in fresh greenhouse mushrooms harvested by hand year-round; Zaatar, a microfarm inspired by Mediterranean agriculture that grows zaatar, tomatoes, peppers, basil, greens and other herbs; and Jardin KUMI Gardens, a rooftop market-garden project producing vegetables inspired by Japanese and Asian culinary traditions.1

The list also includes Asclépiade apiculture, an organization that develops socially inclusive apiaries and uses beekeeping as an intervention tool in correctional settings; Fleurs en ville, a flower farm practising environmentally responsible, local and seasonal floriculture, which the release describes as the first to grow cut flowers on building roofs in Montreal; Emporium Safran Québec, which grows saffron in the heart of Lanaudière and on Montreal roofs, including the Palais green roof; and the Ferme agricole de la Cuisine collective Hochelaga-Maisonneuve, dedicated to ecological agriculture, socio-professional integration and food security.1

The release describes the Palais green roof as one of Quebec's most important showcases for experimenting with and promoting urban agriculture since 2016. Free guided tours led by AU/LAB will let visitors explore the production space and learn about the crops grown there. Places are limited and advance registration is required through a link in the release.1

The Palais said the first market fits its aim of making its public space a living place open to the city and suited to discovering local initiatives, for its international clients as well as Montreal residents.1

The release also describes the Palais as a creative-solutions centre and a showcase for Montreal expertise that has hosted major events since 1983. It says Montreal has hosted the most international events in the Americas for a 10th consecutive year, and that the Palais reports one of the highest client-satisfaction rates in the world.1

The release does not say whether any legislation or regulation is required for the market, and it does not state the legislature's sitting status. It also does not say how many visitors are expected or whether the market will become an annual event.1
