PEI posts $355.5-million deficit in 2025-2026 Public Accounts

Revenues for the year were just over $3.3 billion, $192.7 million higher than in 2024-25 and $45.5 million above the 2026 spring forecast. The province said the increase over the spring forecast was mainly due to higher than anticipated provincial corporate tax revenue.
Expenditures were just over $3.6 billion. Health and Wellness and Health PEI accounted for $1.4 billion, Education and Early Years $475.2 million, Social Development and Seniors $232.0 million, Transportation and Infrastructure $223.1 million and Workforce, Advanced Learning and Population $200.8 million.
