Newfoundland and Labrador's Department of Transportation and Infrastructure says Pitts Memorial Drive will be closed in both directions from Friday evening, October 9, to midday Monday, October 12, so a culvert can be replaced as part of an ongoing construction project.1

The closure will be in effect between the Heavy Tree Road intersection and the Bay Bulls Overpass. The department said the full closure will allow the work to be completed more efficiently and safely, significantly reducing the duration of traffic disruptions that would otherwise be required.1

Motorists are asked to plan ahead, expect delays on alternate routes and allow extra travel time while the work is underway. Detour information and signage will be in place to guide traffic safely around the closure.1

The department said information on active highway construction projects and repairs is available at nl511.ca and on the NL 511 mobile app.1
