The City of Saskatoon issued the update at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2026. It says the opening of Melville Street between Lorne Avenue and Portage Avenue has been delayed until Saturday, Nov. 7, 2026.1

The city attributed the delay to unforeseen circumstances. It said it will continue to monitor conditions and provide updates as soon as they become available.1

The city said the project is weather permitting and barring any unforeseen circumstances. It thanked everyone for their patience.1

Saskatoon Transit may be affected by these detours, the city said. Transit service alerts and real-time bus information are available on third-party apps like Transit and Google Maps Transit on desktop.1

Current road restrictions and construction information, and the Daily Road Report, are available at saskatoon.ca/construction, the city said.1
