Duluth to Host 2027 IIHF U18 Men's World Championship; Tickets on Sale Sept. 22

Preliminary round tickets for the IIHF U18 Men's World Championship 2027 go on sale to the public Tuesday, Sept. 22 at 10 a.m. CT at iihf.com, USA Hockey announced during a community kickoff event in partnership with Minnesota Sports and Events. USA Hockey members get priority access to pre-sale opportunities beginning Friday, Sept. 18.

The tournament runs April 21 to May 2, 2027, at AMSOIL Arena in Duluth, Minn., with 10 nations competing in 29 games across 12 days. The full schedule was released, including preliminary-round matchups and the path to the bronze and gold-medal games on May 2.

The IIHF U18 Men's World Championship is the premier showcase for the world's best NHL draft-eligible players, giving fans an early look at many of hockey's future stars competing on the international stage. Tournament alumni include Olympic gold medalists and Minnesota Wild standouts Matt Boldy and Quinn Hughes, as well as fellow Team USA stars Jack Eichel, Jack Hughes, Auston Matthews, and Matthew and Brady Tkachuk.

University of Minnesota Duluth forward and Hermantown native Max Plante, winner of the 2026 Hobey Baker Award, and his brother Victor Plante, an incoming freshman for the Bulldogs, each represented Team USA at the IIHF U18 Men's World Championship before joining the collegiate ranks.

Single-game tickets for the preliminary round start at $15 and go on sale to the general public Tuesday, Sept. 22, at 10 a.m. CT at the official website, along with select ticket packages. Packages include a preliminary-round all-session package, a preliminary-round all-Team USA games package, and a final preliminary-round weekend package featuring two U.S. games and two Canada games. Tickets for the quarterfinals, semifinals and medal round will be available at a later date. Package availability is limited.

The 10 participating nations will be divided into two groups, with each team playing the other four in its group during the preliminary round. The top four teams from each group move on to the quarterfinals on April 29, with winners advancing to the semifinals on May 1. The bronze medal game will be played at 1 p.m. CT on May 2, followed by the gold medal game at 5 p.m. CT. Games can be watched on IIHF.TV.
