Canada's merchandise trade surplus widens to $3.9 billion in June
Exports rose 0.4 per cent and imports edged up 0.2 per cent, leaving the surplus slightly wider than May's $3.7 billion.
Canada's merchandise trade surplus with the world widened slightly to $3.9 billion in June from $3.7 billion in May, Statistics Canada reported Aug. 4. Merchandise exports increased 0.4 per cent in June, while imports edged up 0.2 per cent.1
The agency did not state whether the figures were seasonally adjusted, and the release gives no regional breakdown or year-earlier comparison. A single monthly move is not a trend.1
